San enjoyed his training with Lom Orng. It has helped him earn enough money to eat every day, a luxury previously not afforded to him. His new income also allows him to send his two children to school. He is delighted by the skills and tools provided to him by Lom Orng.
Before his training, San had no job. He is much happier now that he is trained and working. He is by no means rich, but happy he can cut hair every day to provide a comfortable living for his family.
San cuts hair for five people per day on average, and receives around 1500 riel per service.
San was a quietly confident man who talked to me as he worked. His business was thriving, and he had not eaten breakfast or lunch due to the constant flow of customers. As we finished speaking and I began to leave, four more customers arrived seeking his expert skills: he told me he would not eat till dinner time.
